Symposium 35 – Budapest, 2011
SUMMER SYMPOSIUM IN REAL ANALYSIS XXXV
"The Symposium on the Danube"
The Rényi Mathematical Institute and Eötvös Loránd University
June 5-11, 2011
The Thirty-Fifth Summer Symposium in Real Analysis (The Symposium on the Danube) was hosted by The Rényi Mathematical Institute and Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Hungary, June 5 -- 11, 2011. The Editorial Board of the EXCHANGE wishes to express its gratitude to The Rényi Institute and Eötvös University for their gracious hospitality and to the conference director, M\'rton Elekes, for his outstanding leadership in organizing and conducting this symposium. We'd also like to thank local organizers T\'amas Keleti and Dezs\H o Miklos for their tireless efforts on our behalf. Your efforts made our experience in Budapest memorable both intellectually and culturally. Thank you!
In addition to the formal mathematical program, time was set aside for research collaboration and a lively Wednesday afternoon problem session. On Thursday afternoon, the symposium participants were treated to a Danube cruise to Visegr\'ad where we hiked to the river fortress, toured the castle and were later treated to a rennaisance banquet before returning by boat to Budapest under the stars. This years ``ANDY'' was awarded to a shocked but grateful {\bf Slawomir Solecki}. Congratulations, Slawa!
The conference featured invited one-hour addresses by:
Mikl\'os Laczkovich (Budapest)
Alexander Olevskii (Tel Aviv)
Yuval Peres (Microsoft Research\&Berkeley)
Slawomir Solecki (Urbana)
as well as twenty-nine contributed talks. Following the participant list is the program of the Symposium, and then the summaries of the talks. The editorial board of the {\bf EXCHANGE} wishes to thank the speakers for preparing these summaries.
