Dr. Mayeli received her Ph.D. from the Technische Universität München (TUM) in 2006 and was a Marie Curie Fellow after completing her doctoral studies. She is a member of the doctoral faculty in the Ph.D. Program in Mathematics at CUNY. Her work has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and AMS–Simons Research Enhancement Grants. She has also spent time at the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences through a Simons Foundation-supported research visit. She received the Feliks Gross Endowment Award for outstanding research. Her research is in harmonic analysis, including wavelets, frames, and analysis on groups and manifolds. In recent years, she has worked on spectral analysis of limiting operators in high-dimensional settings, as well as on uncertainty principles and applications to signal recovery and sampling theory.
